This historical pineapple plantation home was closed several years for renovation and of course COVID. NOW it has reopened for tours. The home was built in 1898 on a mound of crustacean shells. Besides pineapples he had 600 beehives, that supplied the northerners with 90,000 pounds of honey during WWI, since sugar prices sky rocketed to 35 cents a pound.
